Beth Nielsen Chapman

Beth, one of the most celebrated singer-songwriters in America,  will perform selections from her CD Hymns, a stunning collection of ancient Latin hymns, as well as hits from her incomparable songbook, including recent number one UK radio hits from her current CD Look, which will make its U.S. debut in 2005.

Child of the Chain™ under the musical direction of Chris Morris, also features classical composer Rudy Davenport and the amazing musicianship of Austin's Omar Lopez.

Proceeds will benefit the Renewal Ministries of St. John Neumann Church in Austin, including Christ Renews His Parish, the renewal retreat that ignited Mary's career as an inspirational artist, and also spawned Mobile Loaves and Fishes ... feeding the street people of Austin and San Antonio seven days a week ... the Media for the Holy Family Foundation which brings EWTN to Central Texas ... and is the retreat that's growing like wildfire on an inter-denominational basis throughout Austin.

Child of the Chain™ contains hymns from the evolving composition THE GABRIEL MASS, which was inspired by the community of St. Gabriel's Catholic School in Austin, Texas, and the women of Team 15 of Christ Renews His Parish, a powerful lay ministry of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in West Lake Hills under the spiritual guidance of The Right Reverend Monsignor Edward Jordan. Although individual hymns and songs have been performed at various venues and churches, the entire body of work is only offered live within the context of the Celebration of the Holy Eucharist. Child of the Chain was recorded commercially in hopes of sharing the joyful message of this music to a wider audience and in so doing, initiating a renewed and heightened awareness of the common beliefs and struggles of all people of faith.

THE  GABRIEL MASS was first dedicated and offered in music ministry on May 23, 2002 in a Celebration of the Holy Eucharist presided over by The Most Reverend John E. McCarthy, Bishop Emeritus of the Catholic Diocese of Austin, with The Right Reverend Monsignor Richard McCabe, a Founding Trustee of St. Gabriel's Catholic School and Pastor of Emmaus Catholic Church in Lakeway, Texas, and The Reverend Father Paul McCallum, Pastor of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Austin. It was offered in honor of the men and women who founded and built St. Gabriel's, which opened in 1999. All liturgical text was referenced from the Order of the Mass of THE VATICAN II SUNDAY MISSAL in agreement with approved editions of the ROMAN MISSAL. 1974, Daughters of St. Paul, Boston, Mass.
